According to Webster an autopsy is, “an examination of a body after death to determine the cause of death or the character and extent of changes produced by disease”. CFS Forensic Services LLC uses only Board Certified Forensic Pathologists to conduct autopsies. We are specifically trained in cause and manner of death determination, trauma, and natural disease processes.
When a family member is lost due to natural disease or obvious trauma it is always a difficult time for those left behind, but, when a family member dies and there are questions about the death, then closure and being able to move on in life becomes near impossible. It is at this time that a private autopsy may be beneficial.
CFS Forensic Services LLC is here to help you answer those questions that you may have. It is important that if you choose to proceed with a private autopsy it is conducted as soon as possible and before any embalming procedure is done. The body changes quickly after death and we want to be able to help you get your answers before too many of these changes makes accurate diagnoses more difficult. We conduct a thorough exam while being respectful and caring with your loved one. Tissue and organ samples may be taken and stored for further testing should it be required. Should toxicology be a question, we work with one of the nation’s top labs to get you those answers.
When all testing is completed and in some cases, review of medical records is done, we then issue you a professional report that explains all of the findings and we will continue to be available afterwards should you have any additional questions in the future. Our goal is to bring you peace of mind, but please be aware that sometimes no matter what we do, an autopsy can’t answer all the questions you may have. This is why we get as much information from you and listen to your needs before any work is performed to make sure that we can answer all you questions if possible.
Our staff is available by phone or email to answer questions and help set your mind at ease. We have a 24 hour voice mail and will do everything possible to return your call within one hour. We want to help you to get the closure you deserve and begin the healing process and therefore we strive to do the best and most professional job possible for you and your loved ones.
